Abstract

India’s  population statistics shows that  35 p.c of the population today is below the age of 20.By the year 2030, India will add 241 Million people in working-age population (that means the children who are currently in our education system (www.yionline.org)). India is on the threshold of capitalizing her population to transform it into demographic dividend. This means that there is a need to create livelihood opportunities for about 13 million young people every year. Creating jobs is a tremendously challenging task unless entrepreneurship is given a serious boost. The state has taken adequate efforts to boost entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. There is a Ministry constituted for skill and entrepreneurship development( www.msde.gov.in).

Education institutes can play a major role in enabling the transformation of a job seeker mind to a job creator mind. This conceptual and descriptive research paper presents case study of innovation in entrepreneurship teaching an undergraduate college in  western India wherein students are encouraged to experiment on the campus so that they get real-life experience of being an entrepreneur.
